Former nationalist youth leader gets 15 additional months in prison
September 30, Pozirk. Zmicier Daškievič, a former Belarusian nationalist youth leader imprisoned in a government post-election crackdown in 2020, has been sentenced to 15 additional months in prison, Naša Niva reported, citing a family friend.
He was found guilty of violent disorder and disobedience to prison administration.
In July last year, Daškievič was to be released after spending a year and a half behind bars for taking part in a protest against election fraud in August 2020. Instead, authorities sentenced him to an additional year in prison for disobedience to prison administration.
A few months later he was charged with violent disorder.
Daškievič is serving his sentence in Penal Colony N 14 in Novasady, Barysaŭ district.
