Zimbabwean defense officials in Minsk learning propaganda techniques
October 8, Pozirk. Belarus and Zimbabwe “consistently defend their national interests,” Leanid Kasinski, the Belarusian defense ministry’s ideology chief, has said after meeting a Zimbabwean military delegation in Minsk.
The Belarusian defense ministry managed to ensure the dominance of official discourses both in the domestic and international information field, he noted.
The official noted the countries’ similar approaches to international politics, domestic economic policies and the striving for a just multipolar world order based on non-interference in internal affairs.
In late January, Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakoŭ visited Zimbabwe to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries’ law-enforcement agencies. According to the minister, Alaksandar Łukašenka “ordered to provide all possible assistance to our Zimbabwean friends.”
A few weeks later, the defense ministries approved a plan of joint action.
The Belarusian government intensified contacts with Zimbabwe in 2023, following Łukašenka’s visit to Harare.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s first lady Auxillia Mnangagwa visited Minsk twice in the last two years.
