Brest journalist faces high treason charges
October 16, Pozirk. Authorities have filed high treason charges against Brest-based cameraman Daniił Palanski, the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) reported.
The Committee for State Security agents arrested Palanski presumably on September 19 after his return from Russia, where he visited some of his family members.
The journalist shot videos for various TV channels and regional websites and volunteered for a search and rescue unit.
Currently, 33 media workers remain behind bars in Belarus, according to the BAJ.
