Rubel down against US dollar after rising at seven sessions

December 10, Pozirk. The rubel has depreciated to 3.4049 against the US dollar at the December 10 trading session of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE).

The Belarusian currency also fell to 4.691 per 10 Chinese yuan but rose to 3.5795 per euro and 3.4028 per 100 Russian rubles.

Last week (December 2–6), the rubel gained 4.58 percent of its value against the dollar, 7.25 percent against the euro and 5.08 percent against the Chinese yuan but lost 2.98 percent against the Russian ruble.

The Belarusian currency lost 8.34 percent of its value against the dollar in the first 11 months of 2024.

Biełstat: consumer prices up 4.6 percent since January

December 10, Pozirk. Consumer prices’ growth slowed down to 0.3 percent in November after 0.5 percent recorded in October, the National Statistical Committee (Biełstat) reports. Food prices rose by 0.7 percent, while non-food prices and services increased by 0.1 percent. …
