Belarusian rubel starts year on sour note
January 3, Pozirk. The rubel has depreciated against key currencies at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.
During the year’s first trading session, it dropped 0.63 percent to 3.4955 per US dollar; 0.98 percent to 3.6104 per euro; 0.69 percent to 4.8834 per 10 yuan; and 0.22 percent to 3.3562 per 100 Russian rubles.
In 2024, the rubel plunged 9.32 percent against the greenback, 1.57 percent against the EU currency and 9.2 percent against the Chinese currency. However, it gained 4.3 percent against the Russian ruble.
