Early voting turnout at 27 percent on third day

January 24, Pozirk. Some 27.2 percent of voters have cast their ballots in the three days of early voting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) reported.

Early voting turnout for three days hit a record high for Belarusian elections, according to Pozirk‘s analysis of the CEC’s historical data. The previous record of 24.44 percent was reported in the elections for parliament and local councils in 2024.

The CEC reported a turnout of 30.6 percent for the Brest region, 27.5 percent for the Viciebsk region, almost 26 percent for the Homiel region, 27 percent for the Hrodna region, 27.4 percent for the Minsk region, 26.9 percent for the Mahiloŭ region and 25.2 percent for Minsk.

Belarus is holding its seventh presidential election from January 21 to 26 in a purged political landscape amid a new wave of crackdown on regime critics.
