Egypt’s air force commander visiting Minsk

January 28, Pozirk. Mahmoud Fouad Abd El-Gawad, Egypt’s Air Force commander, has met with his Belarusian counterpart, Andrej Łukjanovič, in Minsk, the Belarusian defense ministry’s press office reported.

Officials “exchanged views on further cooperation,” it added. Both have already met in Egypt in December 2023 at the Egypt Defense Expo. During that visit, Łukjanovič also met Mohamed Hegazy in charge of the Egyptian Air Defense, discussing joint combat training and cooperation in air defense modernization.

The Egyptian delegation is expected to visit Belarusian air force units and military memorials, the ministry said.
