Rubel down against key currencies at BCSE on February 17

February 17, Pozirk. The rubel has depreciated to 3.2645 against the US dollar at the February 17 trading session of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.

The Belarusian currency also dropped to 3.4092 per euro, 4.4416 per 10 Chinese yuan and 3.5401 per 100 Russian rubles.

Last week (February 10 – 14), the rubel climbed 3.73 percent against the dollar, 3.61 percent against the euro and 4.27 percent against the yuan but lost 2.49 percent against the Russian ruble.

The Belarusian currency gained 1.73 percent against the dollar in January, after losing 9.32 percent of its value against the dollar last year.

Central bank’s net foreign-currency assets up 0.7 percent in January

February 14, Pozirk. The Belarusian central bank’s net foreign-currency assets rose by 0.7 percent last month to 32.89 billion rubels (about $9.8 billion at the current exchange rate), its recent report says. In annual terms, they increased by 38.2 percent. …
