Łukašenka to speak at climate summit in UAE
November 29, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka has left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a working visit, his press office reports.
This is his ninth visit to the country and second one in 2023 after he met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi in February.
Łukašenka will reportedly present “Belarus’ approaches and proposals to address global issues of climate and environmental security” at the World Climate Action Summit held under the UN auspices. He is also expected to have a number of meetings and talks on the sidelines.
The World Climate Action Summit is a part of COP 28, the UN Climate Change Conference scheduled from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai.
About 70,000 delegates including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Pope Francis as well as world leaders and top officials from 198 countries are expected to attend the event which may become the largest climate conference in history.
