December 14, Pozirk. NATO and its allies want to disintegrate the post-Soviet space, Alaksandar Łukašenka has told the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) top security and intelligence officials at the meeting in Minsk.

“First, they want to drive a wedge into our centuries-old good-neighborly relations and then pit us against each other,” Pul Pervogo, his press office’s unofficial Telegram channel, quoted him as saying.

Authorities in Minsk register “more aggressive” activities of foreign secret services, which send “not just spies, but terrorist agents” to Belarus, he claimed.

“I absolutely support the point of view of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who recently said that the world is closer than ever to a nuclear war,” Łukašenka said, noting that secret services should play a greater role under such conditions.

It should be noted the Russian invasion of Ukraine, carried out with support from Minsk, undermined regional security in February 2022.
