Police arrest daughter of jailed BPF leader Kastusioŭ

April 24, Pozirk. Mahiloŭ police have arrested Kaciaryna Kastusiova, daughter of the Belarusian Popular Front leader serving a 10-year prison term after being convicted in a high-profile case widely seen as politically motivated.

A police-linked Telegram channel posted a video of her confession to collaborating with the outlawed Viasna Human Rights Center in 2020 and signing up for the opposition Pieramoha Plan in 2021.

The video does not specify what charges she may face.

In September 2022, BPF leader Ryhor Kastusioŭ was found guilty of conspiracy to seize power in connection with a Zoom call, in which he said he took part as a listener.

He has received cancer treatment and has been complaining of deteriorating health.
