Łukašenka backs creation of Palestinian state
October 27, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka has stressed the need to “create a Palestinian state,” as he spoke to journalists during his trip to the Minsk district.
“It was decided in 1947,” he commented on the Hamas-Israel conflict. “Why is this poor [UN Secretary General António] Guterres under attack? . . . He said the right thing. People live in terrible conditions. They need to create a state . . . once and for all.”
Neither the Israelis nor the Palestinians “need war,” they want to “live in peace and raise their children,” the Belarusian ruler’s press office quoted him as saying.
Łukašenka spoke out against the use of force for conflict resolution and accused the United States of being partly responsible for the crisis.
“The Americans smelled a change in the situation in the world, multipolarity and such,” he said. “This is their policy. Ukraine and the whole of Europe are in turmoil and do not care about the Middle East.”
Since the early morning of October 7, Israel has been facing rocket barrages from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Members of the group have also broken into Israeli territory and taken hostages. About 1,400 people from 37 countries were killed in Israel while the Gaza Strip toll is about 7,000.
Israel’s death toll from the terrorist attack is estimated at about 1,400 people from 37 countries. About 4,600 were wounded or traumatized. About 7,000 people were reportedly killed in the Gaza Strip.
Opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja condemned the aggression and expressed support for the people of Israel in their struggle for their country.
